Since the creation of BLACKBOX, our ambition has always been to be more than just a hair salon.

2018

Creation of the BLACKBOX GROUP headquarters

The BLACKBOX adventure is rooted in the career of its founder, Younes Rkiba. Guided by a central question: how to reinvent the barbershop experience for men of all generations and backgrounds? Younes wanted to create a place where everyone could find themselves, a “second home” unifying styles and cultures. His vision went far beyond a simple salon: he wanted to conceptualize an entire profession around a strong, modern and inclusive brand, where the art of linking the world of classic hairdressing with that of modern barbering would become the norm. At BLACKBOX, no more distinctions, we simply say “I’m going to BLACKBOX”. More than just a hairdressing space, BLACKBOX becomes a place to meet and share, where every customer, whatever their origin or style, can identify with and feel at home. The story begins here.

2019

Premier Salon opens

BLACKBOX comes to life for the first time in the 15th arrondissement of Paris. This salon marks the beginning of our mission: to offer a unique hairdressing and barbering space, designed to bring together all generations around an authentic, modern experience. This is where our values come to life, and where BLACKBOX lays the foundations for its success.

2021

L'Expansion in Cannes

The launch of the third show, in Cannes, is a real challenge. This city, both emblematic and demanding, is the place where we express our know-how and our vision. This BLACKBOX show on the Côte d’Azur confirms our ability to adapt to new contexts, and to make each opening a strong, enriching moment for our team and our customers.

2022

Creation of the BLACKBOX GROUP headquarters

A milestone in the history of BLACKBOX GROUP: the establishment of our head office. We become the first brand in the barbering field to professionalize our structure to this level, injecting a start-up spirit into our sector. Younes Rkiba has a clear vision: to innovate in a field of activity that has cradled many generations, while respecting the urban culture of the barbershop and the codes of our French mentors such as Franck Provost and Dessange, or our English mentors such as Vidal Sassoon. This development marks a decisive turning point for the brand, affirming our position as an innovative and creative leader with a clear objective: “To become the group of tomorrow”.

2024

A Loyal and Growing Community

Today, BLACKBOX boasts 20 salons, over 120 passionate employees and a community of 100,000 loyal customers. Our lounges even play host to international celebrities such as Playboi Carti, Snoop Dogg, ASAP Ferg, Jamie Foxx and Spike Lee. This recognition motivates us to keep innovating and to write history with you.

The BLACKBOX story is just beginning. In 2025, we will launch our training school, a center dedicated to barbering excellence. And we have big ambitions: the opening of a salon in Los Angeles, hand in hand with Snoop Dogg’s son, and an expansion that aims to spread our vision worldwide.
